Angela Hospice provides home health care
services, hospice home care, pediatric programs,
and hospice inpatient care center.

Boy Scouts of America
Organized in 1910, Detroit Area Council
of the Boy Scouts of America has made a difference
in the lives of many tens of thousands of young people. It provides a
wide range of experiences which prove exciting
and beneficial to youths and adults of all backgrounds. Innovative
programs and traditional values combine to aid young men and women from
kindergarten into adulthood.
First
Step
The mission of First Step is to reduce the
incidence of domestic and sexual violence and provide
services to individuals affected by these crimes. Prevention of domestic
and sexual violence through education, advocacy,
appropriate intervention, and working together is the ultimate
goal of First Step.
Growth
Works
Provides comprehensive services for adolescents
and young adults, focusing on assessment
and treatment of substace abuse and addiction and programs aimed at reducing
juvenile delinquency. Parental participation is incorporated in all programs
to aid parents in improving parenting skills
and approaches.
Huron
Valley Girl Scout Council
Girl Scouting meets the diverse needs of
today's young women. Huron Valley Girl Scout Council
serves girls in Livingston, Monroe, Washtenaw, Western Wayne, and Oakland
counties. Adult volunteers and staff provide
Girl Scouting to over 14,000 girls in over 900 troops.
The council maintains and operates Camp Linden in Livingston County and
Camps Crawford and Hilltop in Washtenaw
County.
Barbara
Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute
The Institute conducts research into the
causes, treatments, and prevention of cancer, and provides
services to cancer patients and those concerned about cancer.
Plymouth
Community Council on Aging
The Council is a non-profit organization
having as its objective the coordination of agencies, programs
public and private, which promote and safeguard the interests of citizens
55 and older in the Greater Plymouth Community.
It provides support services, a monthly newsletter,
and programs to the elderly residents of the community.
YMCA
of Metropolitan Detroit - Plymouth Branch
The YMCA provides a variety of training
and sports programs for the entire family, including youth
sports, aquatics, preschool programs, and family programs.

Dental Fund
Supervised by the Plymouth Salvation Army,
the Plymouth Dental Fund is a service that provides
dental care to indigent individuals.

Opportunity House
As the original foundation Community Opportunity
Center, the Plymouth Opportunity house provides
housing for 16 adults with developmental disabilities. It encourages educational
and social development, with an emphasis
on community integration, extensive guidance and
support which enhances the capacity of individuals making lifestyle choices,
and provides comprehensive services, which
support change and progress toward greater independence.

Salvation Army
Local Salvation Army efforts include food
pantry, emergency rent/utility help, counseling, emergency
shelter program, Tiny Tots, summer and seasonal camping programs, Adopt-A-Family programs, character-building youth
groups, meeting facilities, and complete worship center. WE SERVE YOU - our local
supporters and lifelong friends.

Citizens Club of Plymouth
The Club provides multi-purpose services
to enhance the quality of Senior Citizen life.
The
Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Michigan
Services include skilled nursing (rehabilitation,
mental health, HIV/AIDS, cardiopulmonary and
continence/wound/ostomy), high tech equipment, pediatrics, physical and
occupational therapies, speech-language
pathology, medical social work, nutrition counseling,
home health aide services and hospice care.
Statewide Agencies
The
ARC Michigan
A statewide organization that supports persons
with developmental disabilities and their families.
This network, with 48 local affiliated chapters and 6,000 family members,
has been organized since teh early 1950's. The Arc
Michigan focuses on enabling families, individuals
with disabilities and local chapters to access services and supports,
through which consumers may become more
independent, productive and an integral part of their community.
American
Lung Association
ALAM is dedicated to the prevention of lung
disease and the promotion of lung health through
support of lifesaving research, education and advocacy. The association
provides program services for asthma and
other lung diseases, smoking prevention and air quality.
Autism
Society of Michigan
ASM assures full participatin and self-determination
in every aspect of life for each individual.
ASM, a statewide advocacy organization, represents persons with autism
and their families through information and
referral, educational training workshops, a resource library,
support to families, advocacy, consultation and technical assistance,
and support groups.
Childern's
Charter of the Courts
A child advocacy organization that focuses
on issues which bring young people in contact with
the courts - especially as a result of child abuse and neglect. This work
is accomplished through advocacy, professional
education, community information, and by assisting
communities in developing programs to meet local needs. Children's Charter
is guided by placing a high value on safe,
permanent homes for children.
Children's
Leukemia Foundation of Michigan
The CLF serves children and adults with
malignant, or potentially malignant, disorders of the
blood, lymphatic system and bone marrow, such as leukemia, Hodgkin's Disease,
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
Citizens
for Better Care
This organization helps the almost 100,000
Michigan residents of nursing homes, homes for
the aged and other adult care facilities and their families with information
and advocacy to solve problems and improve
the quality of their lives.
Epilepsy
Center of Michigan
This Center is the only statewide nonprofit
organization that focuses entirely on epilepsy. The
Epilepsy Center provides seizure management, individual and family support, information and referral, employment, awareness
and advocacy services for people with epilepsy,
their families, and the public.
Hemophilia
Foundation of Michigan
The Foundation exists to promote opportunities
for improving the quality of life for all those affected
by hemophilia, von Willebrand's disease, and related bleeding disorders
including HIV/AIDS. HFM provides programs
and services for all individuals and families in the bleeding
disorder community with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
Kenny
Foundation
This Foundation is dedicated to breaking
attitudinal, economic, informational, and physical barriers
which prevent full access to people with mobility impairments by connecting
buyers with sellers of adaptive equipment;
providing disability awareness programs for children,
barrier-free information, and disabilities publications; building ramps;
and more.
Mental
Health Association
Promotes mental wellness, prevention of
mental illness and improved care and treatment of mentally
ill persons. These goals are pursued through client referrals, self-help
programs, public and consumer education,
constituent advocacy, data analysis, and public policy advocacy.
Michigan
Association for Deaf, Hearing, and Speech Services
MADHS is a statewide agency dedicated to
improving the quality of life for deaf, hard of hearing,
and speech impaired individuals. MADHS provides leadership through advocacy,
public education, and statewide services
to individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Michigan
Association for Children with Emotional Disorders
Parents, professional workers, and concerned
citizens join together as agency volunteers to
encourage better community understanding of emotional problems and mental
illnesses in children and to actively support
a full range of mental health and educational services for them.
Emphasis is given to family support activities.
Michigan
Council on Crime and Delinquency
The state's only citizen's organization
devoted exclusively to assisting local communities in
implementing programs and policies that will reduce crime and violence.
Since 1956, the Council has provided local
citizens and justic professionals with model programs, training, research,
technical assistance and education in order to increase public safety.
Michigan
League for Human Services
A statewide organization working to improve
human services in Michigan through research, planning,
information dissemination, advocacy and supoprt services to the state's
nonprofit chartiable organizations.
Michigan
Legal Services MLS is challenging the state's plan to virtually
eliminate inpatient care and severely restrict other
psychiatric services available to children with mental and severe emotional
disabilities treated through the community
mental health system. As a result of the pendency
of this lawsuit, children across the state with severe impairments are
achieving placements in residential treatment
facilities. Statewide there are 125,000 children requiring
these services.
National
Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence of Michigan
NCADD/Michigan is a statewide voluntary
agency combatting alcoholism and other drug treatment
problems through support for prevention, education, and treatment. NCADD/Michigan
services include a toll-free help line for information and referral, public
education, research/advocacy, support services
to local community service agencies and volunteer
groups.
National
Kidney Foundation of Michigan
The Foundation helps more people prevent,
treat and cure kidney and urological diseases than
any other voluntary health agency. Our multi-faceted programming ecompasses
research, patient services, education, organ
donor awareness and advocacy in order to serve
the estimated one out of every eight Michigan residents who have kidney
or urological disease.
National
Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter, Inc
Serves people with multiple sclerosis, provides
public awareness programs, and supports research
into the cause and cure of MS. Services offered include information and
referral, education, advocacy, medical equipment
assitance, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment.
Paws
with a Cause
PAWS offers independence, dignity, and self-esteem
to people with disabilities by training Assistance
Dogs to become their hands, arms, legs and ears. PAWS gives demonstrations
about the value of Assistance Dogs to more than a quarter of a million
people each year. Taxpayers were saved nearly
$15,000,000 in paid human attendance care
by the use of PAWS dogs, 65% of which were rescued from animal shelters.
The
United Cerebral Palsy Association of Michigan
The UCP is the statewide voice for 33,000
children and adults with cerebral palsy. UCP is committed
to the values of self-determination and inclusion in all aspects of community life. UCP provides consumer education and
rights training, general education, individual and
systems advocacy and technical assistance.
